Esperanzas

Hola amigos escritores de su vida, marzo ha llegado con múltiples condiciones que nos hace tener sentimientos encontrados por los acontecimientos internacionales y nacionales que cada uno de nosotros enfrenta.

Y en estos momentos, una palabra de aliento, apoyo y esperanza son más que bien recibidas para todos los que se están en una adversidad (Hebreos 6:19).

La esperanza es a lo que nos aferramos para superar todos los retos que nos llegan, es un bálsamo que nutre nuestro ser para llenarnos de fe en que las cosas pueden y deben mejorar (Jeremías 29:11).

Esas esperanzas nos hacen levantarnos cada día para salir adelante, para avanzar y en los escenarios más difíciles el poder sobrevivir pero todos ellos comparten los latidos humanos de que estamos aún con vida (Romanos 5:5).

Que esas esperanzas sean multiplicadas, que se sumen a ellas la fortaleza, la alegría y la gratitud de volver a lo realmente importante cada día que es de valorar en los pequeños detalles como lo es compartir con nuestros seres queridos, ver un amanecer, alimentos en nuestras mesas, un descanso seguro y reconfortante, ver las bellezas de la naturaleza, hacer lo que disfrutas en armonía con tu entorno (Hebreos 11:1).

Así como la llegada de la primavera, renace la vida en la naturaleza; de los lugares menos esperados brota la vida y se niega de desaparecer, se aferra y de una manera estoica soporta la adversidad, así nosotros también saldremos adelante (Romanos 12.12).

No desmayes, sigue creyendo, sigue confiando, sigue esperando ese cambio, esa buena nueva, esa nueva oportunidad; mantén tu alma con ánimo aún en medio de la oscuridad porque cuando más sombrío es  porque anuncia la llegada del amanecer.

Hello writer friends of your life, March has arrived with multiple conditions that make us have mixed feelings about the international and national events that each of us faces.

And in these moments, a word of encouragement, support and hope are more than welcome for all who are in adversity (Hebrews 6:19).

Hope is what we cling to in order to overcome all the challenges that come our way, it is a balm that nourishes our being to fill us with faith that things can and should improve (Jeremiah 29:11).

Those hopes make us get up every day to get ahead, to advance and in the most difficult scenarios to be able to survive but all of them share the human heartbeat that we are still alive (Romans 5:5).

May these hopes be multiplied, may the strength, joy and gratitude be added to return to what is really important every day, which is valued in the small details such as sharing with our loved ones, seeing a sunrise, food in our tables, a safe and comforting rest, seeing the beauties of nature, doing what you enjoy in harmony with your surroundings (Hebrews 11:1).

Just like the arrival of spring, life is reborn in nature; from the least expected places life springs up and refuses to disappear, clings and in a stoic way endures adversity, so we too will get ahead (Romans 12.12).

Do not lose heart, keep believing, keep trusting, keep waiting for that change, that good news, that new opportunity; keep your soul with courage even in the midst of darkness because when it is darkest it is because it announces the arrival of dawn.

Ciudadanos del Mundo

La Empatía es definida como la “capacidad para reconocer y comprender a la otra persona, sin renunciar a la propia perspectiva ni pretender que la otra persona renuncie a la suya, buscando la satisfacción de los mutuos intereses. La persona comprende a los demás, ayuda, reconoce y satisface las necesidades ajenas, valora la diversidad y muestra tacto y adecuación para respetar las creencias de los demás” (Goleman).

Estando a días de concluir este año e iniciar un 2021 con muchos retos, me pregunto ¿Hemos realmente aprendido las lecciones que nos ha traído este 2020? ¿La gracia y misericordia ha estado presente en nosotros para brindarle una mano al necesitado? ¿Estamos siendo empáticos al abordar todo lo que nos ha rebasado en este año?

Cada ser humano es un ciudadano del mundo, el cual merece consideración, respeto, acceso a salud, educación, alimentación, tener un trabajo digno que le permita suplir sus necesidades y buscar la autorrealización. 

Con todas estas adversidades, me parece que tenemos mucho por hacer aún, en el tema medio ambiental necesitamos intervenir urgentemente para mitigar los efectos del calentamiento global y cambio climático; en el área humana, necesitamos replantear muchos aspectos para que las personas logren acceder a condiciones que mejoren sus situaciones actuales, temas como la seguridad, la salud, el acceso a la información, calidad de vida entre otros. Es decir, todo lo que convierte a una persona en un ciudadano (Santiago 3:17, Colosenses 3:16).

Estas preguntas me las hago porque seguramente los flujos migratorios se incrementarán en el nuevo año, todos buscando una mejor condición de vida y en generar mejores fuentes de ingreso para sus familiares. La migración es un derecho universal, por lo que esta debe velarse por que se haga de manera segura, ordenada, en la legalidad para evitar ser víctimas de abusos y perdida de la libertad.

Todos tenemos un rol que cumplir. Si eres de los afortunados que cuentan las bendiciones como salud, alimento, un techo sobre tus hombros, abrigo y trabajo; ¡Gracias a Dios por ello! Sigue haciendo tu mejor esfuerzo, contribuyendo con el fruto de tu trabajo para mejorar tus condiciones, la de tu familia, tu comunidad y tu país (Ezequiel 34:26, Salmos 24:5).  

Si eres, de los que toman decisiones, déjame decirte que tienes una enorme responsabilidad en tus manos, porque se te ha elegido el administrador de los recursos de millones de personas para que hagas un uso eficiente de esos fondos y generes calidad de vida, no únicamente para la tuya, sino que también para la de los demás (Mateo 25:14-30, Proverbios 10:6).

Y si, por el contrario, eres en los que se encuentra en el lado de la necesidad, deseo que recibas todas las oportunidades que te mereces, que salgas adelante y que tu fortaleza, fe y motivación sean cada día más sólidos para afrontar esta dificultad (Deuteronomio 28:2).

Pero a todos, incluyéndome, deseo que la gratitud, la ganas de salir adelante y de hacer nuestro mejor esfuerzo sea lo que nos motive cada día para lograr que todos seamos ciudadanos del mundo (Deuteronomio 16:17). 

Recuerda que en nuestras manos está el elegir qué es lo que queremos dejar en los demás. 

¡Tú decides que dejar! 

Citizens of the World

Empathy is defined as the “ability to recognize and understand the other person, without renouncing one’s own perspective or pretending that the other person renounces his, seeking the satisfaction of mutual interests. The person understands others, helps, recognizes and satisfies the needs of others, values ​​diversity and shows tact and adequacy to respect the beliefs of others” (Goleman).

Being days away from concluding this year and starting a 2021 with many challenges, I wonder, have we really learned the lessons that 2020 has brought us? Has grace and mercy been present in us to give a hand to the needy? Are we being empathetic when addressing everything that has passed us this year?

Every human being is a citizen of the world, who deserves consideration, respect, access to health, education, food, having a decent job that allows them to meet their needs and seek self-realization.

With all these adversities, it seems to me that we still have a lot to do, on the environmental issue we urgently need to intervene to mitigate the effects of global warming and climate change; In the human area, we need to rethink many aspects so that people can access conditions that improve their current situations, issues such as safety, health, access to information, quality of life, among others. That is, everything that makes a person a citizen (James 3:17, Colossians 3:16).

These questions I ask myself because surely the migratory flows will increase in the new year, all seeking a better life condition and generating better sources of income for their families. Migration is a universal right, so it must be ensured that it is done in a safe, orderly manner, in the law to avoid being victims of abuse and loss of freedom.

We all have a role to play. If you are one of the lucky ones who count blessings like health, food, a roof over your shoulders, shelter and work; Thank goodness for it! Keep doing your best, contributing the fruit of your work to improve your conditions, that of your family, your community, and your country (Ezekiel 34:26, Psalms 24: 5).

If you are one of those who make decisions, let me tell you that you have a huge responsibility in your hands, because you have been chosen as the administrator of the resources of millions of people so that you make efficient use of those funds and generate quality of life, not only for yours, but also for others (Matthew 25: 14-30, Proverbs 10: 6).

And if, on the contrary, you are on the side of need, I want you to receive all the opportunities you deserve, that you move forward and that your strength, faith and motivation are every day more solid to face this difficulty. (Deuteronomy 28: 2).

But to everyone, including myself, I hope that gratitude, the desire to get ahead and do our best is what motivates us every day to make us all citizens of the world (Deuteronomy 16:17).

Remember that it is in our hands to choose what we want to leave in others.

En las regiones favorecidas con la plantación de café se vive una grata experiencia la cual varía dependiendo de la localización y la altura en el cinturón geográfico del aromático. Este cinturón imaginario que los expertos en la caficultura lo definen así, y se llama de esta manera porque se delimita claramente por los trópicos Cáncer y Capricornio.  Alrededor de ochenta países en el mundo son los que tienen el privilegio en el cultivo de esta planta milenaria.

Las flores blancas de la planta tienen una fragancia similar al Jazmín, un aroma exquisito que percibe todo aquel que ha tenido la oportunidad de caminar entre los plantíos y el cual se hace más profundo al caer la noche y la mezcla del rocío.

Previo al brote de la fruta se orquesta una antesala a través de ese perfume que cobija las plantaciones, así que es totalmente inevitable el recordar la esencia del jazmín; ese perfume tan apreciado, que data de tiempos antiguos y que hasta el día de hoy se continúa utilizando como base de fragancias de aromas dulces.

Etimológicamente el nombre del jazmín deriva del árabe clásico y uno de sus significados es “regalo de Dios”. Adicionalmente, se le vincula con la sencillez, la calma, la belleza verdadera, el amor y el afecto; entre otros.

Y ya que los perfumes datan de los tiempos antiguos, en donde una serie de esencias se preparaban para diversos propósitos desde ceremonias, usos exclusivos de la realiza, aroma en el hogar; a lo largo del tiempo se siguen manteniendo como una costumbre importante. Vemos que, con los avances de la tecnología, los podemos encontrar en diversas variedades, presentaciones y según lo especial que sea, determina el precio que habrá que pagar para adquirirlo ya que muchos de ellos son ediciones especiales.

¿Y si te dijera que uno de los aromas más selectos eres tú? ¿Qué, con tu vida, has llenado antes de nacer con un olor fragante a tus seres queridos? ¿Qué al igual que las plantas de café que ofrecen esa esencia célebre de un atardecer, tú eres una obra preciosa y única ante los ojos de Dios?

Eres ese perfume de alto valor, hecho a base de incienso puro, aromático, según el arte del perfumador: ¡El Creador del Universo! (Éxodo 37:29).

Así que mantén tu esencia con el alto valor que tiene, esa edición especial y única que eres. Permite que tu vida sea como aquel perfume de nardo que tuvo el privilegio de ser esparcido en el hombre más famoso de la historia antes de hacer el sacrificio de amor más grande por la humanidad (Juan 12:3, Mateo 26:12).

Con tus acciones ayuda a tu prójimo, sé una bendición para los demás, cada vez que lo haces deleitas al Creador del Universo; así lo encuentras escrito 1 Timoteo 2:3 “porque es bueno y agradable delante de Dios nuestro Salvador”. Recuerda, damos a los demás lo que existe en nuestro interior, así que mantén ese olor fragante dónde vayas y en lo que hagas.

Fragrant Smell

In the regions favored with the coffee plantation, a pleasant experience is lived which varies depending on the location and height in the geographical belt of the aromatic. This imaginary belt that coffee experts define it that way, and it is called this way because it is clearly delimited by the Cancer and Capricorn tropics. Around eighty countries in the world are those that have the privilege in the cultivation of this ancient plant.

The white flowers of the plant have a fragrance like Jasmine, an exquisite aroma perceived by everyone who has had the opportunity to walk among the plantations and which deepens at nightfall and the mixture of dew.

Before the fruit sprout, an anteroom is orchestrated through that perfume that shelters the plantations, and it is totally inevitable to remember the essence of jasmine; that much appreciated perfume, which dates back to ancient times and continues to this day as a base for fragrances with sweet aromas.

Etymologically, the name of jasmine derives from classical Arabic and one of its meanings is “gift from God.” Additionally, it is linked to simplicity, calm, true beauty, love and affection; among others.

And since perfumes date from ancient times, where a series of essences were prepared for various purposes from ceremonies, exclusive uses of it, aroma in the home; over time they continue to be an important custom. We see that, with advances in technology, we can find them in different varieties, presentations and depending on how special it is, determines the price that will have to be paid to acquire it since many of them are special editions.

What if I told you that one of the most select aromas is you? What, with your life, have you filled before being born with a fragrant smell to your loved ones? Like the coffee plants that offer that famous essence of a sunset, you are a precious and unique work in the eyes of God?

You are that high-value perfume, made from pure, aromatic incense, according to the art of the perfumer: The Creator of the Universe! (Exodus 37:29).

So keep your essence with the high value it has, that special and unique edition that you are. Allow your life to be like that perfume of tuberose that had the privilege of being spread on the most famous man in history before making the greatest sacrifice of love for humanity (John 12: 3, Matthew 26:12).

With your actions help your neighbor, be a blessing for others, every time you do it you delight the Creator of the Universe; This is how you find it written 1 Timothy 2: 3 “This is good and pleasing in the eyes of God our Saviour.” Remember, we give to others what exists within us, so keep that fragrant smell wherever you go and in what you do.

¿Les ha pasado que despiertan con el deseo de ver una película que nos llene el alma? De esas que nos dejan lecciones de vida y seguir creyendo que en este mundo existen corazones maravillosos, personas extraordinarias que nos hacen el día; bueno hoy fue uno de esos y la encontré en el streaming.

Wonder o Extraordinario en la versión en español, es una película inspiradora. Basada en un hecho real que su escritora R. J. Palacio tuvo con su hijo al llevarlo a comer un helado. El pequeño lloró al ver a un niño con el Síndrome de Treacher Collins; lo que es una reacción común porque vivimos en un mundo al que estamos acostumbrados en seguir estereotipos, buscando la perfección en un mundo totalmente imperfecto. Ese momento, marcó la historia de esta bella película, la que disfruté de principio a fin y con muchas lágrimas lo confieso.

La película es protagonizada por Owen Wilson, Julia Robert y Jacob Tremblay, la cual cuenta la historia de Auggie, un niño que padece la enfermedad de Treacher Collins; por lo que su familia se ha esforzado en darle un ambiente lleno de amor y confianza.

Auggie desde su nacimiento ha sido un guerrero, pero se enfrenta a uno de los retos más grandes al incorporarse al sistema educativo; donde diariamente sufre rechazo, burlas, desprecios. Su familia desde el primer día le acompaña hasta la escuela, su hermana Olivia al despedirse le susurra al oído: “si te miran, deja que lo hagan. ¡No pueden ignorarte si naciste para sobresalir!” como apoyo para que su pequeño hermano se reconforte en el lugar más difícil de la escuela: la entrada principal donde todos se detienen a observarlo (Deuteronomio 31:6).

El profesor Browne, maestro de Auggie tiene una peculiar manera de enseñar a sus alumnos, el cual parte de la reflexión y comparte con sus estudiantes preceptos como: “cuando puedas elegir entre tener la razón o ser amable, elige ser amable”. Por sí aún no la has visto, búscala y disfruta de un momento de empatía, solidaridad y de quitarnos estereotipos que todos cargamos de una u otra manera (Efesios 5:9).

La historia no solamente se enfoca en una patología visible, nos hace reflexionar en lo que cada uno debe de superar. Si fuésemos más incluyentes, podríamos ver más allá de la apariencia, ideología, raza o creencias… veríamos el corazón, seres totalmente imperfectos aceptándose los unos a los otros. ¿Cuántas heridas podríamos ahorrarnos si supiéramos ver más allá? Como lo dijo la Sra. Pullman: “todos tenemos marcas en nuestra cara. El corazón es el mapa que nos muestra hacia donde vamos, y la cara es el mapa que nos muestra donde hemos estado” (Mateo 18:33).

Cada ser humano es único y especial, somos la obra célebre del Creador del Universo, así que ámate cada día, ama a tu prójimo como a ti mismo; no permitas que la adversidad, el rechazo te definan, por el contrario, permite que sean los instrumentos para ser tu mejor versión y tal como lo mencionó en su discurso el Profesor Tushman: “la grandeza yace no en la fuerza sino en el uso correcto de la fuerza. Aquel o aquella cuya fuerza tenga más corazón, es quién más fuerza tiene y a quién más gente atrae…” (Romanos 8:28, Salmos 56:3, Job 11:18, Gálatas 5:14).

Finalmente, no puedo despedirme sin compartir el discurso de Auggie porque es el reflejo de un luchador con un alma hermosa: “solo logré sobrevivir al quinto grado, como todos los demás… pero tal vez de eso se trate, tal vez la verdad, es que no soy tan común. Quizás si supiéramos lo que piensan los demás sabríamos que nadie es común y todos merecen una ovación de pie al menos una vez en la vida.

Como mis amigos, como mis maestros, mi hermana por siempre estar ahí para mí, mi papá por hacernos reír siempre y mi mamá más que nadie; por no darse por vencida, ante nada, especialmente conmigo. Es como el último precepto que nos dio el Señor Browne: sé amable, todos tenemos nuestras batallas. Y si de verdad quieres ver lo que es la gente, ¡lo único que debes hacer es mirar!” (2 Corintios 12:10).

Wonder

Has it happened to you that you wake up with the desire to see a movie that fills your soul? Of those that leave us life lessons and continue to believe that in this world there are wonderful hearts, extraordinary people who make our day. Well today was one of those and I found it on streaming.

Wonder is an inspiring film, based on a true story that its writer R. J. Palacio had with his son by taking him out for ice cream. Her little boy cried when he saw a child with Treacher Collins Syndrome, which is a common reaction because we live in a world we are used to following stereotypes, seeking perfection in a totally imperfect world. That moment marked the history of this beautiful film, which I enjoyed from beginning to end and with many tears I confess.

The film stars Owen Wilson, Julia Robert and Jacob Tremblay, which tells the story of Auggie, a boy with Treacher Collins disease; so his family has made an effort to give him an environment full of love and trust.

Auggie has been a warrior from birth but faces one of the greatest challenges when entering the educational system; where daily he suffers rejection, ridicule, contempt. His family accompanies him to school from day one, his sister Olivia whispers in his ear when they say goodbye: “If they look at you, let them do it. They cannot ignore you if you were born to excel!” as support for her little brother to comfort himself in the most difficult place in school: the main entrance where everyone stops to observe him (Deuteronomy 31: 6).

Professor Browne, Auggie’s teacher, has a peculiar way of teaching his students, which starts from reflection and shares with his students precepts such as: “when you can choose between being right or being kind, choose to be kind”. In case you have not seen it yet, look for it and enjoy a moment of empathy, solidarity and removing stereotypes that we all carry in one way or another (Ephesians 5: 9).

The story not only focuses on a visible pathology, but it also makes us reflect on what each one must overcome. If we were more inclusive, we could see beyond appearance, ideology, race or beliefs … we would see the heart, totally imperfect beings accepting each other. How many wounds we could save if we knew how to see beyond? As Ms. Pullman put it: “We all have marks on our faces. The heart is the map that shows us where we are going, and the face is the map that shows us where we have been” (Matthew 18:33).

Each human being is unique and special, we are the famous work of the Creator of the Universe, so love yourself every day, love your neighbor as yourself; do not allow adversity, rejection to define you, on the contrary, allow them to be the instruments to be your best version and as Professor Tushman mentioned in his speech: “greatness lies not in strength but in correct use of the strength. He or she whose strength has the most heart is the one who has the most strength and to whom the most people attract… ” (Romans 8:28, Psalms 56: 3, Job 11:18, Galatians 5:14).

Finally, I cannot say goodbye without sharing Auggie’s speech because he is the reflection of a fighter with a beautiful soul: “I only managed to survive the fifth grade, like everyone else… but maybe that’s what it’s about, maybe the truth is I’m not that common. Maybe if we knew what other people think we would know that nobody is ordinary and everyone deserves a standing ovation at least once in their life.

As my friends, as my teachers, my sister for always being there for me, my dad for always making us laugh and my mom more than anyone else; for not giving up on anything, especially with me. It’s like the last precept Mr. Browne gave us: be nice, we all have our battles. And if you really want to see what people are, all you must do is look! “ (2 Corinthians 12:10).
